Experience the magic of a Mareeba hot air balloon ride as the sun rises over the breathtaking Atherton Tablelands. Guests make their own way to the Mareeba Heritage Centre before dawn, where friendly pilots and crew prepare them for an unforgettable flight above rolling countryside, with expert commentary adding to the experience!
Drifting peacefully through the morning sky, guests will take in spectacular sunrise views while enjoying the comfort of Australia's largest fleet of hot air balloons. After landing, celebrate the flight with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine or refreshing juice, followed by a signed commemorative flight certificate.
To complete the adventure, guests will receive a complimentary digital photo package, valued at $135, delivered by email to relive the experience. Itinerary
- Pre-dawn pick-up. Meet our Pilots & Crew at the Mareeba Heritage Centre. Meeting times are confirmed on booking. Port Douglas 1Hr 15Mins drive; Atherton 30min drive; Cairns 1 Hour drive via Kuranda Range Road (Kennedy Highway).
- 6.30am. Experience the fun & unique sensation of being in a Hot Air Balloon, flying gently high above the Atherton Tablelands, Australia. The balloon takes off from Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy the picturesque landscape at dawn, floating in your Hot Air Balloon, time to really breathe in the wide-open spaces! We have Australia's largest fleet of Hot Air Balloons and a fun and highly trained crew to maximise the enjoyment of your balloon flight. It's just like a balloon festival, every day!
- 07.50am. Our hot air balloon flights are more than an aerial adventure. Upon landing, you're invited to a post-flight celebration with sparkling wine or a refreshing orange juice, as you share your experiences and create connections with fellow adventurers, our pilot, and support crew. Digital photos are available for free after your morning with us and will be automatically emailed to you.
- 08.00am. Drop off to the Mareeba Heritage Centre. The tour finish time varies with the seasons (summer, winter and the time of sunrise).

28th wedding anniversary balloon flight
We had an absolutely awesome hot air balloon experience. We couldn’t have been happier with our pilot, Neil. We never felt unsafe at any point—he was extremely competent and professional, and his experience really showed, especially when navigating tricky conditions. His calm and confident approach gave us complete confidence and allowed us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. The bus driver and ground crew, “Magic” Mike and Brian, were equally impressive. They were well organized and maintained excellent safety and appropriate control throughout the entire experience. The communication with Neil and the ground crew was precise, clear and professional which made the landing perfect. The entertainment and funny one-liners before and after the flight was also fantastic and added a great atmosphere to the day. Once the balloon was packed up and secured, we were treated to a lovely light breakfast of fresh fruit, juice and champagne—a perfect way to finish the experience. From start to finish, the whole experience was professional, well organized and incredibly enjoyable. A huge thank you to Neil, "Magic" Mike and Brian for making our hot air balloon adventure (which was to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary) such a memorable one. We highly recommend them!
